Democratic alternative to XR ideas for political change
Extinction Rebellion apparently favours a sortition approach as a means to urge governments to act as wanted - see the book of one of its founders https://www.rogerhallam.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Common-Sense-for-the-21st-Century_by-Roger-Hallam-Download-version.pdf. The ideas in this book how to accomplish political change are in my eyes not convincing, and also not democratic. As XR presently seems to be very popular, WPE should come up with alternative ideas including a world parliament: e.g. by articles in newspapers, commenting on XR websites, blogging, .... and thereby support environmental goals as well as supranational democracy.
