Customs Tariff Amendment (Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Bill 2022
Introduced with the Customs Amendment (Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Bill 2022 to implement Australia's obligations under the Free Trade Agreement between Australia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the bill amends the Customs Tariff Act 1995 to: provide a free rate of customs duty for goods that are United Kingdom (UK) originating goods; specify phasing rates of customs duty for certain UK originating goods that will incrementally reduce to free; maintain rates of customs duty on certain alcohol, tobacco and petroleum products; provide a safeguard that would restore the customs duty rate to the rate applied before the commencement of the agreement for certain products; and maintain custom duty rates for certain UK originating goods.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Bills_Legislation/Bills_Search_Results/Result?bId=r6927
